Program of the 11th International Workshop – Get the Spirit!

Focus topic: Transitions

The 11th International Workshop – Get the spirit! is all about transitions. The smooth change within the gait, from gait to gait or from lesson to lesson forms a main topic, which we will work on in detail and understandably with the following daily programmes:

05 August 2024 – Day 1:
Transitions in basic training – young horses on the lunge, under saddle and in hand. The relevance of seat and aids in transitions. Basics and demands on the rider in theory and practice.

06 August 2024 – Day 2:
Only a straight horse is able to perform transitions smoothly and correctly. We discuss the natural crookedness and how to straighten the horse with the help of the side gaits. Transitions in and between the side gaits will be shown under saddle as well as in hand.

07 August 2024 – the day off:
Wednesday is workshop-FREE! You have the opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings around Gut Rosenhof. Munich, the Bavarian royal castles such as Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and Linderhof, as well as the Wieskirche invite you to visit.

08 August 2024 – Day 3:
Working out and refining transitions within and between gaits, as well as improving collection through transitions. We will try to show you all the variations and encourage you to be creative and constantly strive for ease.

09 August 2024 – Day 4:
Transitions serve as preparation for many lessons – piaffe, passage as well as flying changes and canter pirouettes. On this day we will give insight into the preparation as well as the transitions between the lessons.

10 August 2024 – Day 5:
Clean and playfully ridden transitions are the basis for successful working equitation courses. The course work with all the associated obstacles will be illustrated and explained. Furthermore, we will explain the transition from classical training to circuit riding and look at the Spanish walk, kneeling and other lessons that fall into this category.

It is possible to attend the entire week as well as individual days as a spectator. Anja Beran will answer all questions, which can be asked at any time.
