Many Facets of Classical Dressage
During our morning training session on September 6th, Anja Beran once again showcased the many different facets of her daily work. From training a young horse and working in-hand to the gentle introduction of the *piaffe*, our guests gained fascinating insights into the diverse training our horses receive.
A visitor from Warendorf sparked a particularly engaging and in-depth discussion: what actually distinguishes classical dressage from modern dressage—and why does this distinction exist in the first place? After all, good dressage should always pursue the same goal: maintaining the horse’s health through systematic, horse-friendly training, fostering its natural talents, and developing it into a balanced, motivated partner. It is all the more regrettable, then, that the paths taken in today’s equestrian world have diverged so significantly.
